Born in a war-torn Nicaragua, land of poets and revolutions, Pedro has always had a way with words. Discovering Hip-Hop after his harrowing journey to the United States at the age of six to escape the civil war, Pedro found a passion he would pursue throughout his life. Through this newly found genre of music, he learned to speak English remarkably fast. Growing up in the D.C. area, the murder capital of the world at the times, added to the poetic voice and real-life perspective of the world, which would later make its way into his music. A college graduate, husband, father of two, and still, starving artist; Pedro el Poeta has many highlights in his career, including opening for Russel Simmons' Def Poetry Jam, performing the entire soundtrack of an internationally award-winning short film, and producing three albums, including “Street Reporter EP,” which was executive produced by Lance Quinn (Bon Jovi, Talking Heads, Star Wars, etc.). |
